I am using the Listserv at my work address.
Question 4. Telnet. Telnet is a way to connect to a remote computer/server
using my computer. You use your telephone line to gain access. It is as
though you are at the computer you are accessing and can navigate anywhere.
The sites I visited to learn more include:
http://www.bionet.org/home/help.html and
http://www.useforesite.com/tut_telnet.shtml
But they didn't give much more information than we received in our lesson on
Telnet.

The site at http://www.cosy.sbg.ac.at/doc/eegtti/eeg_toc.html
is an extended guide to the Internet. The table of contents will provide you
with 7 pages of Telnet sites. At the Bionet site, I tried to log into
telnet://cs.muohio.edu but could not access the site. I was not set up. I
tried telnet://140.147.254.3 for the Library of Congress and came up with
information system. I didn't have much luck accessing a site. I could get to
a site, but not enter it.

I can't see me using Telnet. I didn't see that it could provide me with more
than I can already obtain. But, I've been wrong before!! Susie
