North Pacific Right Whale Sightings in CaliforniaThere have been two
documented North Pacific Right Whale sightings in California in 2017. This
is relevant to your interpretation regarding right whales. The link

- *May 5, 2017 - **Anacapa Island, Channel Islands, California - *east
of the lighthouse (N34'00.675", W119' 19.869" a single whale was seen by
Shelly Johnson on the sailboat *Zoarce*s. They were able to about 50
photographs
