PUBLIC COMMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Commission is seeking input as it undertakes an update to its Strategic
Plan. You may participate in these efforts by providing your comments and
ideas related to the agency’s goals, objectives, and actions for the next
five years.
Are you interested in sharing your opinion on the Coastal Commission’s
priorities for the future? The Strategic Plan is a document that guides the
agency’s performance, including agency goals, objectives, and actions
necessary to achieve the core mission of protecting the coast. Please share
your thoughts and ideas regarding what should be included in the updated
Strategic Plan by identifying the coastal priorities that are most important
to you and by providing your vision of what the Coastal Commission should set
out to achieve in the next five years. Comments are welcome to address any
agency planning function, including, for example, the following priority
functions:
• Climate Change
• Coastal Resources
• E-Government
• Enforcement
• Environmental Justice
• Local Coastal Program (LCP) Planning
• Public Access
• Public Engagement
This is an early opportunity to provide feedback prior to the preparation of
the Commission’s Draft Strategic Plan. A public draft of the Strategic Plan
is anticipated to be available in Spring 2019. The release of the draft will
kick-off an additional opportunity for the public to comment and respond to
the draft, including through testimony at a Commission hearing.
Initial feedback and comments can be submitted through the Commission’s
