4 gray whales
500 common dolphins
A beautiful, sunny day on the water with a small group of 7 people from the
midwest, Santa Barbara, and France. A large group of common dolphins spread out
over a large area were encountered mid-channel feeding, bow-riding, and playing
in the wake.
Everyone pleased to see a group of three grays traveling slowly, doing quick
dives, and showing nice tail flukes near the west end of Santa Cruz near the
Gap. Another gray whale spotted a little further east as we headed back.
