Flat, beautiful conditions on the water on Saturday, Dec. 11 in search of
whales.
Coastal bottlenose sighted just outside the harbor; common dolphins enroute;
and about 150 offshore bottlenose sighted near the west end of Santa Cruz.
A lone, juvenile blue whale sighed in the gap between Santa Cruz and Santa
Rosa, feeding with the offshore bottlenose.
The whale was traveling fast as we motored alongside heading back toward the
front of Santa Cruz. Quite a treat for this time of year.
Many thanks to Capt. Dave, Kelly and Adam.
Naturalists Tara Brown and Terri Wright on board, with Sophie Busch as PID.
