2 - 3 thousand common dolphin
3 rissos dolphin
Had a large (100+ group of passengers today.
Got into our first feeding frenzy not far offshore-dolphins, sea lions, birds,
and 4 humpbacks - with some surface feeding.
As we went further offshore on glassy seas under blue skies we saw many more
large pods of common dolphin.
After Captain Dave gave us a great look at Painted Cave, we found 3 Rissos
dolphin. Returning to Santa Barbara, we encountered 2 more humpbacks in
another large pod of dolphin, and spotted some breach splashes in the distance.
Thanks to Captain Dave, 2nd Captain Colton, and Crew Jill for another great day
on the Santa Barbara Channel.
