After 3 cancelled trips in a row it was a great pleasure to be back on the
water! It was a beautiful day, about 30 passengers on board.
Sightings
Several thousand common dolphin
8 migrating gray whales, with more spouts in the distance.
About an hour out, east of Santa Barbara we got into an immense pod of common
dolphin, and ran with them for a while. Se the headed south to Santa Cruz,
where we found two groups of migrating grays. We followed a group of 6 for a
hour or so.
We then had a good look at Pelican Bay. As we headed back north, we saw at
least 2 more grays and got into another megapod of dolphin. It got a little
bumpy, but the group seemed to enjoy the ride.
Thanks to Captain Dave, 2nd Captain Devon, and Adam for a great day out.
I was a solo today. Always grateful for this opportunity!
