Thank you Catherine, NOAA Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary is
assembling a basking shark tagging team to assist the Southwest Fisheries
program. The sanctuary researchers will be the local contact to report
sightings. A flyer is being made as we speak and the sanctuary will be ready
soon to hopefully deploy within 45 minutes of a sighting report. Stay tuned for
a flyer about the new tagging effort.

Those of us going on WWs in east Channel have been lucky to see basking
sharks with some regularity and need to record them in SpotterPro. Most
important is to send the information of the sightings to the
basking shark hotline.
This info is in our new training Manuel on The OneDrive, but I thought it
would be beneficial to put the info in our smart phones for easy access.
