Dear Fellow CINC Freelisters,
IPCO is NOT landing day passengers today onto East ANACAPA at Landing Cove.
Option of changing tickets of 10 am Ventura departure from Anacapa to Scorpion.
Thus I will not be going over this morning to Anacapa via IPCO to lead a hike
for campers only or spending the night on Anacapa.
Any recent news on forecast of a Tsunami possibly affecting our region?
Beautiful day. Enjoy wherever you are.
Best,Marty FCINC 2008

Subject: [cinc] Re: CX bad news A good question. I don’t think so. If you read
any textbook on oceanography, the chapter on currents and lateral drift will
surely mention Santa Barbara Harbor and show an aerial photograph. Despite
being warned not to build Santa Barbara Harbor by the Army Corps of Engineers,
the place is situated in such a manner that the normal lateral current that
carries sand down the beach is interrupted by the breakwater and the
configuration of our harbor. This causes the sand drop out of the current and
fill up the mouth of the harbor. So every year, sometimes more than once a
year, they fire up the harbor dredge that sits there at anchor waiting for
duty!

The Harbor entrance is closed due to it being filled up with sand, and with a

whale watch previously scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday.
Please pass the word.
Thanks for all you do
