The U.S. Fire Administration has received notice of the following
firefighter fatality:
Name: Ornell E. Fuller, Jr.
Rank: Captain
Age: 40
Gender: Male
Status: Volunteer
Years of Service: 19
Date of Incident: 01/02/2005
Date of Death: 01/03/2005
Fire Department Name: Midway Volunteer Fire Department
Fire Department Address: 95 East Darby Road, Dexter, New Mexico 88230
Fire Department Phone: (505) 347-2145
Fire Department Chief: Ornell Fuller, Sr.
Cause of Death: Captain Fuller responded to a structure fire on the
evening of 01/02/2005. He returned home after the incident and reported
to work the next day. When he failed to return home on the evening of
01/03/2005, his parents began to search for him. He was found deceased at
the job site where he had been working that day from a heart attack.
