The U.S. Fire Administration has received notice of the following
firefighter fatality:
Name: Jeffrey A. Tiegs

Status: Volunteer
Years of Service: 11
Date of Incident: 11/24/2003
Time of Incident: 1718hrs
Date of Death: 11/24/2003
Fire Department Name: Amherst Fire District
Fire Department Address: 4585 Fair Ground Rd. P.O. Box 38, Amherst WI

Fire Department Chief: Victor R. Voss
Cause of Death: Firefighter Tiegs collapsed and died from a cardiac
arrest
as he dismounted from the fire engine he had driven to the scene of a
minor traffic accident.
Wake Arrangements: Visitation at the Jungers Holly Funeral home in
Amherst
on Friday Nov. 28 from 4-8 PM.
Funeral Arrangements: Funeral at Peace Lutheran Church in Amherst on
Saturday Nov. 29 at 11 AM.
