Homepage http://wa.ctk23.ne.jp/~cham029/chu.htm Hades stood motionless at the classroom window gazing out at the school grounds, thinking of the classes he had taught today (which consisted of him telling the students to start at the beginning of their books, read to the end, and expect a test tomorrow) and, of course, his plans for later. This school assembly had become an unexpected detour and he rearranged his schedule in his mind, making up for the time he would lose due to it. He assumed he would need to be present for it, and he still needed to appear to be an upstanding teacher, so attendance was mandatory. This would force him to shorten his plans for the science club meeting, making things move along quicker than what he had planned. A shame really. Rushed plans often fail miserably. A knock at the door snapped him from his train of thought. Hades went over and opened it. In the hallway stood Ashura, eye still swollen from his fight with Okita earlier that day. ?I hope that this will be good news.? ?I dealt with that student as you requested sir.? ?Excellent.? Hades placed his hand underneath Ashura?s chin and lifted his face to the light. ?I see you did not walk away unscathed.? Ashura sneered. ?Sometimes even otaku get lucky sir.? ?Yes, that they do.? Hades was slightly disappointed in this outcome. He had hoped Ashura would be what he was looking for in a subordinate, flawless. But from the looks of the rest of the students at this school, Ashura would probably be the best he could find. ?Is there still a club meeting scheduled for after school sir?? ?Yes that is still on schedule. Would you know how many people I can expect to attend?? ?Not many. The science club has never been that popular.? ?Pity. Well, I guess we will gather after the assembly. Tell everyone who wishes to attend to be here, Ashura.? ?Yes sir.? With that Ashura turns to leave. ?And Ashura,? Hades speaks. ?Yes sir?? ?Do not worry about your eye. There will be plenty of opportunities for revenge later. After all, it is only the second day of school.? ?Yes, that it is sir, that it is.? Ashura grins slyly at Hades, bows, and leaves to find the members of the science club. Hades shuts the door closed after Ashura?s departure and walks to his desk. He sweeps his cape back and an assortment of items he had stolen from the students in his classes poured out onto his desk. Pens, paperclips, notepads, staplers, calculators, PDA?s, cell phones, video games, all sorts of school items plopped on to the desk. Hades examined all the items and picked up a cell phone, smashed it on the wall, picked through the shattered pieces for the antennas, transmitters and receivers, and tossed the rest into the trashcan. He did this with each electronic device until he had a pile of circuitry laid out in front of him. Hades grabbed a couple of pieces from the pile and began twisting the exposed metal wires, connecting SMD resistors to batteries, capacitors to heat sinks, transistors to antennas, and so on until he had a small device about the size of a dime in his hand. Hades dropped the item onto the table and grabbed another handful of pieces and cobbled together another exactly the same. He repeated the process several more times, creating several copies of one item and then switching to another kind. Hades began doing this process without even looking at the items he was holding in his hand. He stared out the window again, thinking. That is, until something caught his eye. ?Well what do we have here?? Hades asked himself. Down in the yard, some of the children were creeping up to his newly acquired residence. Among them was the Aritomo boy from his homeroom class. Usually one to defend his personal property to the death, Hades was not at all disturbed by these children?s actions. Then things became even more interesting. Hades could hear a voice, disturbingly familiar, just below him. Looking down the saw?himself? Some other boy was talking to this new Hades and as they were talking, Hades? (the imposter?s) cape billowed in the wind, allowing the real Hades to see two children, one sitting on another?s shoulders, underneath. An excellent disguise job, only someone viewing from Hades? vantagepoint (or directly behind) could have seen them at that moment. The student ran off after talking to the imposters to pull the other children who were attempting to break into the house away and the imposters made their way on towards Hades' house. Hades noticed that this time the imposters had enough sense to make sure the cape stayed pulled tight while they were walking to prevent anyone from seeing the two of them inside. Hades was encouraged to see this. Children with this kind of initiative and creativity were rare to find. They were much more inspired than those who simply decided to creep in were. They could be useful. Hades looked down at the house. He made a gesture with his hand, holding his opened hand out and then closing it into a fist. The imposters walked up to the front door. The door opened and they went in. The door slammed shut. There was a muffled scream and then silence. ?Curiosity is always dangerous, children,? Hades felt the laughter building inside him. ?Looks like its time for the assembly, Mwa ha ha ha!? Hades swept his cape over the desk full of components he had just assembled and the items disappeared into the folds of it. He stood perfectly straight, adjusted his clothes until they were perfect, and exited the classroom. He laughed all the way down the hall, into the bathroom, inside the bathroom (scaring half a dozen people inside it), back into the hall, and finally stopped at the assembly. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
