In the Mini, the cheering hordes are all in the last quarter mile and right
at the finish line. My guess is that there won't be any people on the street
at mile 12.
The next question is if we can get enough people to play. I already know
that both of our regular drummers are unavailable. Can everybody reply with
whether they can make it or not on Saturday, March 31, from 10 to 11?
Lisa and I are available.

I think the question is not how many “runners” will hear us, but how many
people will be on the street cheering them on? The runners will blow right
by us and only hear about 10-barsJ

9:30 just seems way too early for a bar but I did stop by on Sunday and ask
that we start at 10. I think Bruce is amenable. So let’s plan for a 10:00
downbeat in front of Old Town. Need to start thinking about a play list
unless we want to just play whatever comes to mind. Trish suggests Muppets.
What do you think marathoners? What do you like to hear at mile 12?

The half marathon and full marathon routes pass us at mile 12, and then the
marathon route passes us again at mile 25. I downloaded the results from
last year's race and calculated what time each runner would pass mile 12 and
mile 25. Here's a plot:

If we're trying to maximize the number of people who will hear us, 9:30 to
10:30 would be a much better time to play -- about 5 times as many people.
Somebody should check my work, though.

Also, I didn't hear back from folks on a downbeat time for the Marathon. I'll
assume 11 is okay unless there is a public outcry.

We have two people who have had surgery @ work. Busy for the rest of us.
Today’s schedule will be late. Can’t imagine that I’ll be done and make
practice.
When do we play for the Volunteer Fair?
