Dear Parent Pep Band Family,
I’m not sure how many of you I’ll be seeing at the banquet tonight, so I’m
sending this email to make sure I reach all of you J
I cannot express how much it meant to Skyler (my senior trumpet player) for me
to be a member of the pep band. This was her only year of marching band, and my
presence and support really added to her experience. She was so proud to point
me out to her friends J Thank you ALL so much for allowing me accepting me into
your warm and welcoming group! And thank you especially to the other trumpets,
for allowing me to stand there with you and play an occasional (and usually
wrong) note!
I am officially retiring from the pep band. Trust me, the ONLY thing that may
be missed is my blue trumpet, which I am happy to donate if anyone wants it J
Thank you again for making our marching band experience so much fun! You guys
rock!!

The Christmas folio generally. There’s a booklet with about 20 songs in it of
which we play about 10-12. Then there are some arrangements of standards like
White Christmas. I expect we’ll do all of those except Step Along with Santa.
The most difficult one for us seems to be March of the Carols which is a 6+
minute long medley. We may add one or two more this year. The booklet is close
to sight readable except when some of the songs are a bit up tempo. I’ll try
and publish a “won’t play” list so we can focus. I’d start with March and the
standards.

I’m out practice this week but planning on Dec 6th.
Could we get a set list to start working on?

Maybe we can get another location ala previous years. I could offer up our

One of the performances of CHS Holiday Spec will be Thursday, December 6th at
7:00 pm. There will probably be about four hundred choir student performers.
They use lots of space and parking!! Maybe that night is NOT ideal for one of
our PPB pre-Christmas performance practices??
For those who did not attend BOA Saturday night, the CHS performance was just
flawless....music, marching, guard, and the orchestral addition. Wow. Plus,
Avon, Blue Springs, Broken Arrow, and Tarpon Springs were also amazing. I’m
sure that others who attended were impressed, especially considering the
impressive level of competition! Way to go, Carmel. It’s nice for the PPB to be
a tiny part of successful seasons.
Rob, sorry to lose you! Is the Boston Pops percussion section in your future?
