Reply-To: asmith@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
IL SB 2740, ensures that insurance consumers have access to an adequate
network of providers within a reasonable distance from their home.
Wednesday, February 19 at 5pm, the Illinois Senate Insurance Committee will
consider SB 2740 to ensure critical time and distance standards and implement
comparable network adequacy standards for mental health and substance use
disorder treatment providers.
SB 2740 will require insurance plans to ensure timely and accessible:
Outpatient treatment,
Inpatient/residential treatment, and
Permit out-of-network treatment in the event there are not in-network
providers available.
SB 2740 bolsters and supports the federal Mental Health Parity and Addiction
Equity Act and Illinois Parity Law and ensures access to critical mental
