Lichess tips in English
1. How To accept a challenge or to challenge a friend.
1.1. To accept a challenge:
1.1.1. Be sure to be logged in before your friend sends you the challenge.
1.1.2. You will hear a sound announcing that somebody has challenged you.
1.1.3. Press the letter b to accept button.
1.1.4. Up arrow to check that everything is correct, down arrow to the
accept button and press enter.
1.1.5. If you don't want to accept the challenge, tab to cancel button and
press enter.
1.1.6. A new page will be opened and jaws will verbalize the parameters of
the new game.
1.1.7. Before entering your first move, press insert z to disable the
keyboard keys.
1.1.8. After you finish the game, press insert z again to activate the
keyboard keys.
1.2. To challenge a friend.
1.2.1. Go to the top of the screen.
1.2.2. Press e to edit box, type your friend's lichess name and press enter.
1.2.3. Go to the top of the screen and press the number 1 in the number row
to hear your friend's name.
1.2.4. Down arrow to find the link challenge game and press enter.
1.2.5. A new page will open where you must select the game mode, it must be
in standard.
If not, look for standard mode with up or down arrows and press tab.
1.2.6. Select the type of time control, real time if you want to specify
time in minutes and increment or unlimited, just as you like and press tab.
1.2.7. If you chose real time, you will be able to select minutes for the
game and seconds for the increment.
1.2.8. The next option to select is casual game or ranking game. Depending
which one you choose, it will alter your lichess elo or not, casual means
friendly game. After selecting press tab.
1.2.9. Now you will be able to choose color or if you want lichess will
choose it for you.
Select your option with up or down arrows and press tab.
1.2.10. The focus will be positioned into a create the game button, just
press enter or spacebar to activate and the challenge will be posted to your
friend.
1.2.11. If your friend accepts the challenge you will hear a sound and jaws
will verbalize the parameters of the created game in a new page where you
will play the game.
1.2.12. Remember to press insert z to fix the focus disabling the keyboard
keys in the input box where you enter your moves and commands.
1.2.13. After you finish the game, press insert z again, to reactivate the
keyboard keys.
2. Some useful commands and parameters.
You must space between the command and the parameter of the command.
There are some commands that do not use parameters, so you only have to type
the command and then enter.
remember that the letter for the pieces (parameters) must be in lowercase
for black and uppercase for white.
2.1. p letter of the piece. To query a piece on the board.
p r Tells you the position of the black rooks.
p K Tells you the position of the white king.
2.2. s letter of the file or number of the row. To query all the pieces in a
file or row.
s g Will tell you all the pieces in the g (Gustav) file.
s 3 Will tell you all the pieces in the Third row.
2.3. l Tells you the last move.
2.4. c Tells you the time remaining. No matter if you play with white or
black pieces Lichess always tells your remaining time in first place.
2.5. o Tells your opponents data.
3. How to analyse a game in Lichess:
3.1. Open the Lichess site www.lichess.org and log in.
3.2. Ctrl home to go to the top of the page.
3.3. Press down arrow to enable the blind mode, and press enter to disable
it.
Sometimes, this setting is held in the server, just check if this mode is in
disabled and we are good to go.
3.4. Press number 3 in the number row of the keyboard to find Tools heading
level 3.
3.5. Down arrow to find link import game and press enter.
3.6. Ctrl home to go to the top, press b to choose file button, and press
enter.
It says, filename edit.
3.7. Alt t to files of type.
Tab until you find the PGN file to analyse and press enter.
3.8. Down arrow to request a computer analysis checkbox not check, press
spacebar.
Down arrow to import game button, press enter and wait to hear the analysis
is complete.
3.9. A new page with the analysed game opens.
Ctrl home to go to top of the page.
Press number 1 to find textual representation heading level 1.
Press the number 2 to find the moves heading level 2.
Down arrow to read the analysed game.
