How can I send an image in Jpg format
If I cannot save it in Jpg format?

You have to convert it before sending it. Some programs do that very well, like photoshop or paintshop pro for the payware ones, but Xnview can do it too freely, like The Gimp. Just choose the compression ratio to adjust the size in Kb and keep a good quality.
You can get XnView here:
http://www.xnview.com/
Other programs can do the same convertion, it's just an example.

Should the image I send automatically return
a copy to me? Or do I CC myself?

You should receive your own pictures automatically. It's just a message coming from the list, even if it comes from you.

Who sees the images I send?

Every suscriber :-)

How do I receive images sent in
by others?

It should be automatic. One is attached to this message. It's a close-up of the upper left structure.

You can see that I am a novice at this stuff.
Program is great!
Sincerely,
Bob G.

Good Icon Bob, and thanks for the comment.

I've just limited the maximum posts body size to 150,000 bytes, so make sure next time you send a JPG and not a BMP (which aren't compressed).

Cheers!
