Fellow Chai-Ters,
Last Friday's meeting featured a presentation by Nadav Rayman of BiZData.
Nadav gave us a look at the latest version of their Sharepoint BI portal which
includes among other things: a readily customizable tile based interface for
navigation, tile based report libraries that differentiate SSRS, Excel
Services, PerformancePoint etc., audience targeting and other cool stuff.
Definitely worth a look if you've got Sharepoint (I think it needs enterprise).

He also gave us an overview of the direction of MS BI and a demo of DataZen
which can be used to create dashboards for mobile devices. DataZen is
available now if you have an MS assurance agreement. Here's Nadav's e-mail:

We again had a discussion about managing demand etc. It looks like that will
be an ongoing item on the agenda. Tracy from the Kid's said they're interested
in developing some sort of scoring system to prioritise requests. Andrea from
Eastern said that she'll provide us with the work that they've done. This also
lead to discussion about tools for keeping track of tasks: RCH use
Trello<https://trello.com/> (free for the base version), BizData use
SeeNowDo<https://www.seenowdo.com/> (free) and there's also Jira
Agile<https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/agile?_mid=a93131fd41d2c73607ad2bd8a947491f&gclid=CID6t6br98UCFUMIvAodv2oAPQ>
($10 pm for 10 users). These aren't project management products, mostly
sticky note/whiteboard type functionality but look pretty useful.

The Christmas party: Another fixed item on the agenda. Suggestions welcome.
Remember that tempus is fugiting.

Future meetings:
June Meeting - Jock Lowe will be presenting on some work he's done on
predicting ED activity. Jock has a PhD in Mathematics and is currently doing
some work at the RCH.

July Meeting - Robin Dale from DHHS is going to present on:
1. work that he's doing for the Common Client Index project fuzzy
matching algorithms in SSIS and SQL
2. Social Network Analysis

Ben (St. V's) has also indicated that he'd like to do a presentation and Mark
from E&E has indicated that he'll do one on their QlikView implementation.

It would also be great if we could get a few people doing some short
show-and-tell presentations.
