Hi folks, a few things before we wind down the broadcast year
Come by the Yearender on December 18th. We'll be enjoying some great music and
talk, and there will be a lot of great food available too. If you aren't on the
interview schedule and want to get into the booth for an interview, bring some
music along anyway, there's almost always someone who can't make it in last
minute. Remember for everyone to come prepared with your music and what you
want to talk about about your show. The schedule is below and up on our website
too:

Remember that CFBX will be on automation and the building will be closed from
December 19th to January 1st. We will be back on the air on January 2nd. If you
are going away for the holidays, let me know when you will be back so I can
make adjustments to the schedule the first week back. If you need to move your
show, please let me know as soon as you can so I can find you a slot in the new
year.
The voting for Programmer of the Year will continue til the end of Sunday,
December 18th at 6 PM. The ballot box will be removed at that time, so get your
votes in before then. We always award one random voter with a special prize
package.
Lastly, some Christmas homework for you!
Remember to get in your Year end Top 10 albums of the year to me, and a list of
your favourite live concerts of the year, by Saturday, December 31st. I'll be
publishing them on our website, along with the station's own Top 100 albums of
the year, early in 2023.
Also early in the new year, I want to get a new batch of show promos together.
If you haven't recorded a promo yet, work on them over the holiday. Make a 30
second script that tells everyone about your show, when you are on and why
people should tune in and find an instrumental piece of music to use in the
background. I'll help you put the promo together. I'll be contacting everyone
in the new year and getting your promos recorded and into rotation.
Another project for early in the new year are the return of the volunteer and
show profiles. These get published up on our website and help showcase some of
the great programming on our station. I'm working on the questionnaire right
now and we'll be ready to go early January 2023. If you want to be profiled,
please email me over the holiday and I'll get you into the rotation.
Lastly, we'll be doing a short, one-week volunteer drive in January, from the
9th to the 15th, looking for new volunteers. If you know someone who would be a
good fit as a station volunteer, encourage them to apply. Keep your eye out for
possible volunteers during your first week of class too! We'll also be running
an info table at the Winter Resource Fair on January 5th from 11-2 PM and we'll
need a few volunteers to help, plus a station info table in Old Main in
January, date to be determined.
Thanks everyone and have a great Christmas break!
