Hi folks, I've gotten more in place today for our return to the air next
Monday, October 18th.
First, the instructions for cleaning the booth and the sanitizer wipes are now
up in the booth. Those of you who are in during the day on the air this week
can use them for a dry run at cleaning this week and I'll be happy to help you
through the process.
Second, almost everyone has checked in with me on their timeslot, that they are
ready to take it over. I sent emails out to everyone I hadn't heard from on
Friday. I also still need to hear from several of you with your vaccination
status. Drop by the stations to get on my list, get your mic sock and get the
new door code. A reminder that staff will NOT be sharing your status with
anyone else, your vaccination status will remain private, safe and protected in
my office. We are enforcing vaccination status, and you will need to provide
your status to me to return to the air. You can also email your QR code to me,
as long as it includes your name in the graphic.
Third, I'll be beginning to train our new recruits this week. We have about 12
new volunteers going through training, plus a few others I'll be training in
early November. As a result, you'll be seeing a few new faces around, and some
people sitting in on your shows. Unfortunately, this is necessary, since we
have a small pool of volunteers on the air, you will be seeing sit ins during
your first couple of weeks back on the air. I am keeping track of where new
recruits will be training so we won't go over capacity in the on air booth. If
you have any concerns, please let me know.
Fourth, I won't be enforcing much in the way of programming requirements (like
playlist, PSAs, promos, etc.) for the first couple of weeks back. I want
everyone to get comfortable being back in the booth and get used to the new
cleaning protocols, social distancing and the like. If you feel comfortable
hitting your PSA, promo and playlist requirements, go ahead and do them, but I
won't be enforcing them for a couple of weeks.
Speaking of show promos, if you've moved your show, you can produced a new show
promo at your leisure. I'll be returning promos to the booth once I get the new
programming schedule finished.
One last reminder to get me your short statement about returning to the air as
soon as you can, by Thursday at the latest. I will be publishing our back to
the air website post on Friday.
Once again, let me know if you have any questions. Thanks everyone!
