Carolyn,
Thank you for sharing this. The first 10 or so minutes were really insightful.
I'm having a little more challenge seeing the silver lining, but I appreciate
Craig's perspective.
I've been on a mission to find more virtual choir type of opportunities and
found a few that some of us may be interested in checking out. If anyone wants
more information, just reach out.
Stay at Home Choir - https://new.stayathomechoir.com/
• They offer different projects to learn and submit recordings. They
offer some live and then recorded rehearsal sessions. Currently open are 2
Karl Jenkins pieces:
o Adiemus (no closure date yet)
o The Armed Man. Each movement has its own recording submission time
window and on-line rehearsals and such. It's a pretty fantastic opportunity.
Self-Isolation Choir - https://www.theselfisolationchoir.com/
• Currently active is a Summer School - they are doing A John Rutter
Celebration (my fav), The Splendor of Church Anthems & Quanta Qualia (starts in
Juy) and Vivaldi's Gloria in D Major (starts in August)
• There is a fee for this one (about $50) and sometimes separate fees for
music. I don't think there are any recording submissions and it's just to
learn and participate. I've not signed up for this one yet, but am very tempted
There are other more light hearted opportunities:
• Sofa Singers - they meet weekly on Zoom and learn usually a pop song
together for about a 1/2 hour and perform "live" on Facebook. It's out of the
UK, so the hours are a little tough if you're working. I attended the Tues
11am session once. It was silly, fun and great to see humanity connect.

• Choriantine is another one - https://www.choirantine.co.uk/
• Smule - a sort of Karaoke opportunity - https://www.smule.com/
I hope this finds you and all well!
