There is sufficient interest for us to attend the Phoenix Chorale concert
"A Chorale Christmas" at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 15th with
discounted tickets. Susan will order them for us next week. So, please
bring $32 per (Cash, Check, or Credit Card) to rehearsal on Tuesday evening.
We will distribute your tickets on or before our December 8th "Christmas
Reflections" Concert.
About the guest conductor on the 15th:
Conductor, composer, and clinician, *Dr. André J. Thomas*’s conducting
credits are extensive. Dr. Thomas has been featured as a guest conductor
with orchestras and choirs around the world including England’s Birmingham
Symphony Orchestra, Tallahassee Symphony, China’s People’s Liberation
Orchestra, and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra; and international
choirs including the Berlin Radio Choir and Netherlands Radio Choir. In
demand as a clinician and choral adjudicator, Dr. Thomas has worked with
World Youth Choirs in the Republic of China, the Philippines, and in
Europe. He has worked with Honor and All-State Choirs throughout the United
States and in Europe, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia. Dr. Thomas has also
distinguished himself as a composer and arranger and his music has been
performed by choirs around the world, including the Phoenix Chorale.
Recently retired, Dr. Thomas was the Director of Choral Activities and
Professor of Choral Music Education at Florida State University. He
currently serves on the Board of Directors for ACDA and he has served as
Artistic Director of the Tallahassee Community Chorus since 1988. Upcoming
engagements this season include Vocal Essence, Charlotte Symphony Chorus,
Carnegie Hall with Manhattan Choral Productions, London Symphony, and World
Choir Games 2020.
