The 20th Annual Grant Lecture: Nature for Us?
Thursday 17 November, 6.30-9pm
Darwin Lecture Theatre, Darwin Building, Gower Street, WC1E 6DE
Our relationship with the natural world has changed over the past 50 years as
we've shifted focus away from only protecting wild areas from people, and
towards recognising what nature does for us. As pressures on the natural world
mount and decisions have to be taken, these differences become important.
Professor Dame Georgina Mace (UCL Centre for Biodiversity and Environment
Research) presents a brief overview of nature conservation and asks how
priorities for nature might be established and implemented in our
human-dominated world. This event is free and is followed by a free wine
reception at the Grant Museum of Zoology.
