Dear all,

Here's some news about goings on at the Grant Museum over the next couple of
weeks, the highlight being a conversation about the world of animal
researchers. I hope you can make it.

Mice People: Cultures of Science
JZ Young Theatre, Anatomy Building, UCL, Gower Street, Wednesday 7th March,
6.30pm

Join Dr Gail Davies (UCL Geography) as she explores the world inhabited by
animal researchers with former geneticist Dr Steve Cross (Head of Public
Engagement, UCL). What cultures have developed around scientists who work with
laboratory mice? In this candid discussion discover how Davies' ethnographic
approach to the practice of modern science has uncovered some intriguing
findings about the humans involved.

Part of the Humanimals Season<http://www.ucl.ac.uk/museums/zoology/whats-on> at
the Grant Museum. Following the event join us for a free glass of wine in a
private view of the Museum. Admission is free and there is no need to book.

Fossil Forage: National Science and Engineering Week Activities
Grant Museum of Zoology, Saturday 10th March, Drop in 11am to 4pm

Take this chance to visit the Grant Museum on the weekend with an amazing
opportunity to sieve through our genuine fossil-rich sediment from a time when
London was patrolled by sharks and rays. Find a 50 million year old shark's
tooth and take it home.
Come to the Grant Museum of Zoology and see what you can find in a day of free
hands-on activities for the whole family. Explore the amazing fossils from
prehistoric creatures with our interactive specimen-based games.

Admission is free and there is no need to book.

Exhibition date changes
As a result of popular demand, we have decided to extend our Art by
Animals<http://www.ucl.ac.uk/silva/museums/whats-on/#426> exhibition, which
show-cases paintings by elephants, orang-utans, gorillas and chimps until after
Easter. It will now run Monday-Friday 1-5pm until 13th April (though note the
closure dates around Easter). Special Saturday opening 11am-4pm 10th March

This means that the opening of Buried on
Campus<http://www.ucl.ac.uk/silva/museums/whats-on/#438>, exploring the
research into a mass of human remains found in the UCL Main Quad in 2010 will
be put back. The new dates are Monday-Friday 1-5pm from 23rd April to 13th
July. We apologise for any disappointment.

We hope you can visit soon.

All the best
Jack
