Good afternoon CDCC congregation! As Fellowship Deacon I am always on the
look-out for events and activities we can participate in, and during COVID, as
you can imagine, we have been limited with in-person options. However, I'm
thrilled to share with you how the Body Life gatherings have been able to
thrive, reuniting again every second Wednesday of the month. We started back up
cautiously in January with an outdoor gathering, and then met again in
February, also outdoors. As the pandemic slows and our days begin to see hopes
of renewal again, I am happy to share that Body Life is back - and everyone is
invited!
To that end, I want to give you all a glimpse of what we experience at Body
Life. A couple of weeks ago, in our February gathering (2/10), we enjoyed a
wonderful experience of Christian community. A dozen of us joined together in
Gene’s back yard for an evening of study, laughter, worship, meaningful sharing
and prayer. Our Body Life team presented everyone with a special Valentine
gift (little flashlights for men, smelly-good candles for women, reminding us
as Mario often does, to let our light shine). Gene debuted his artful mandolin
skills and lead us in singing together a sweet rendition of “Amazing Grace".
Ron’s teaching gave us new, keen insights on the John chapter 6 account of "The
Miracle of the Feeding of the 5000" and in his teaching, he shared a touching
story about his friendship with basketball legend Pete Maravich. Together we
shared practical applications of John 6 as we enjoyed hot chocolate, hot cider
or wine together. It was an evening of loving church family sharing.
I want to extend a heartfelt invitation to those who haven't attended - please
consider joining us! It's a warm and friendly, easy-going evening and often we
share a meal, as we will on Wednesday, March 10th. Especially as COVID 19
lingers, we need times together to support, love and care for each other. Every
month we make every effort to honor COVID safety guidelines. Please feel free
to join us - we start at 5:30 on Wednesday, March 10. It's a comfortable
setting, quite beautiful actually (Gene's gorgeous patio and back yard), and as
the evening light lingers as a prelude to spring, we enjoy a colorful,
picturesque sunset.
Questions? Just reach out to Ron, Gene or myself. We look forward to seeing you
Wednesday, March 10 at 5:30 at Gene's house!
Love,
Stacy
