As I mention in my current posting in the August Sidereal Messenger, I am calling a meeting for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, to form committees to address event development and scheduling. I'd really like to see a good turn out; new faces often bring new ideas. If we want to realize the full potential of CAS, we need more than a handful of familiar faces to carry the load. The Perseids return this coming weekend. I will be at CAS HQ by 9 p.m. to give a presentation. Who can come out to assist? It would be nice to have someone who can display and discuss a meteorite collection. Can someone get the word out to the media? Scope Out 2010 is scheduled at Cincinnati Observatory Center for September 11. We'll have a table, but we need volunteers and membership materials. Let's discuss this at the August 18 meeting. The Great Outdoor Weekend is approaching: September 25 and 26. This has been a big event for CAS. We need presenters and volunteers. This will be another item for August 18. Terry Endres
