Subject: [cas_announce] CAS Stargaze Saturday Dec 11th at Winton Woods
Dear CAS members and volunteers,
A reminder that CAS is joining the naturalists from Winton Woods for their
winter hike & stargaze on Saturday December 11th. We'll have a thin crescent
Moon and Jupiter as bright targets.
The hike portion starts at 6 p.m. & should be done by 7 p.m. CAS will have the
rest of the evening. The hikes tend to have 20 - 30 participants.The stargaze
take place in the field next to the Parcours Trail parking lot. A map is
available on their website http://www.greatparks.org/parks/wintonwoods.shtm.
You are more than welcome to bring a scope or lend a hand answering questions.
Their visitors have been wowed at every previous stargaze. Just drop me note if
you'd like to bring a scope or otherwise help promote the Society as a "CAS
astro-ambassador".
This is becoming a great partnership and a great opportunity to promote CAS's
upcoming centennial.
