ago to support musicians, composers, production folks out of work due to the
pandemic. It’s still going strong, and could be a channel for her to get
funding as well as visibility.

mask-free even in a fully vaccinated setting…
Her talks on composition and the influence of western culture (expansionism,
church etc) are fascinating, and she breaks everything down with examples.

Sorry for the late notice: our dear friend and house guest, Makiko Hirata, an
accomplished concert pianist, is doing mini concerts around the Bay this week
in a ‘Piano Van’ for local homeless, women’s shelters, and other impact
advocates. She is passionate to take music to the people who might not get to

Today, she will be down the street on College Avenue at SockPop, from
10:30am-1:00pm, 2926 College Ave and this afternoon at the Fremont Public
Library, 2400 Stevenson Blvd, from 4-5:30pm. If you get a chance please check
it out.
Since we have the fortune of hosting Makiko and the PianoVan, she will offer
a quick neighborhood demo of the van and speak to the work she is doing.
Please BYOB to 277 Capricorn and come take a peak tonight and learn about the
amazing work being done in our community to bring the arts to everyone. Text

arrives and is ready to do a 10 min demo/talk (likely between 7:30-8:15
