Thank you for getting back to me so promptly. I beg to differ about the
crew just being on a break. The yellow digger has been parked behind our
house since last night. This is what prompted Philip's email. And now I
confirm as a witness (since I work from home still) and with a photo, that
it has been here all that time.
I do expect this digger to move soon and not be parked behind us again. We
have another viewing tomorrow morning.

The yellow one at least needs to be removed no later than 4pm as we have
a viewing this afternoon (we are forced to sell our home due to the
train wash). This shows a lack of consideration by management if after a
briefing the crew are allowed to park it there.
Can you get on to this as a matter of urgency?

Dear Diane,
My wife and I have now repeatedly asked you to stop diggers and
equipment being left directly behind our house, no. 57. We are trying
to sell our house, in the face of the disruption caused by the
trainwash and the uncertainty it puts in potential buyers’ minds.
Having your equipment stationed behind our wall – not now hidden by
the trellis, which we were instructed to take down – and the noise
generated by your work only makes viewings less likely to end up with
a sale.
I know that we will lose tens of thousands of pounds by trying to
sell in these circumstances, but the noise and disruption is taking a
toll on our lives, seven days a week. To have complete indifference
on Spencer’s part only makes this more galling, and I also have to
accept that I am paying through my taxes for the trainwash too. I
consider that you and the trainwash operators are chasing us out of a
home that we have lived in for 26 years, by companies that have shown
no consideration whatsoever to residents. You have repeatedly
apologised, and done nothing effective to reduce the disruption. The
issue of compensation has been batted away as not the problem of
Network Rail or GTR, and Stephen Kelly has I understand said that the
value of our homes remains ‘robust’. I attach below an email from my
estate agents (from 24/9/20) which indicates that buyers are,
naturally, put off by the trainwash.
I copy this to Stephen Kelly and to Daniel Zeichner and to Dave
Baigent. My wife and I feel wholly let down by the City Council and
by our elected representatives.
