The updated system is now in test. A few minor errors require correction. It is
hoped to make the changes live over the weekend of 14th/15th November.
Having been away working at Sight Village London, I have only just received
this update as the testing has been taking place in my absence.
The upgrade of the whole library and membership system has been an absolutely
massive project for Calibre. As a result we have lots more copies of books
available and some long-standing errors with our old system that was seriously
creaking at the seams have been ironed out. Importantly some people who were
below their book allocation for unknown reasons have now been restored to
receiving a full service. Many people at Calibre have contributed a lot of
extra hours over evenings and weekends to make this possible. We have been
aware of the delay with the online booklist functionality but were in the hands
of our suppliers on delivery. With all this going on we still added 118 new
books next month.
Our Membership Services team will help anyone wishing to amend their booklist
as required until we are live with the online functionality in approx. 10 days
time so please call them if you require assistance. Otherwise please be patient
for a little while longer.

I have just phoned Calibre to ask about when we are able to add books to our
reading list again.
Just to let members know, that will be another two weeks they said.
And then it will be another two weeks and so on.

Gone Live
Calibre's new library and membership system has gone live on 10th September
and we have now commenced issuing books to members again.
Of course, we will endeavour to catch up as quickly as possible and we have
people working extra hours to help with this but it will probably take a
week or more to fully clear the backlog. Please bear with us for a little
while longer during this essential period of change.
The facility to update booklists online remains out of action for now but
will be reinstated by October.
Our new system will have lots of benefits for our members including the fact
that we can now have many more copies of our own titles as well as those
purchased from some of the commercial suppliers. This will mean a shorter
wait if you have some of these popular titles on your request list.
