Calibre book number 8933

The book is about Major Pettigrew, a man in his 70s, his friendship with a
Pakistani shopkeeper, and the exploits of their families. It is well and
wittily written with some laugh-out-loud scenes as well as more sober ones,
and the characters are both endearing and believable.

This is a book which can be read on many levels. It has a gentle, very
British, humour, but deals with deep issues. An excellent read whatever you
wish to make of it.
