To any Vatsim Pilots and John Sanders:
Can any of you write up an online flying guide? For my first few
flights I will use IYP, but I'm getting pretty close to being able to
land with MCE. As soon as we figure out a way to implement exiting the
active with MCE, and I figure out landing, of course, which Ben
recently gave suggestions for, then we can use MCE on VatSim with
professional aircraft being the best as ATC can gives us CIds and
Stars.
Here's the thing. Disney Air, a VA for Disney fans, is hosting a poker
event where you fly around Fort Worth gathering poker cards along six
stops. Whoever has the best hand out of all the pilots participating
in the event has a chance to win 2 of a number of something, including
gift cards to FSPilotShop, Active Sky 2016, or A2A/Aerosoft products.
Given that MCE supports the aerosoft Airbus, I'd pick that given the
opertunity, or AS2016.The thing is, this is a multi-leg flight. How
would one do this with IYP? For FSEconomy Chilkoot Air flights, I use
FSXPilot because I can just land, restart the FSEconomy client and
take off on the second and third legs, etc.
However, I can't use FSXPilot on Vatsim because when landing, it
doesn't obay things like keeping under 250 KT under 10K. There doesn't
seem to be a way to enable speed hold with FSXPilot either, so if you
set the speed using the speed command, it goes right back to max speed
as FSXP tries to keep it under control.
Besides that event, Disney Air, and other VAs even, have events I'd
like to start taking part in. I've been offline simming for half a
year or so, and I know at least two people, three actually now that I
think about it, that are online flying and I'd like to join in.
