In Simple ATC with PF3 connected, "Get ATIS" actually works because
all you need do to get the weather is just tune to the frequency. This
is by default, but you can turn it off. In RC4 mode though, I tune to
it.
When requesting IFR clearance, you tune to the frequency for it and
press CTRL-SHFT-0. We have had to change the default key to 0,
however, due to simulator conflicts.
After requesting IFR clearance in Copilot mode 2, it will auto-request
taxi clearance. In mode 1 you have to tune to ground and request it,
by pressing 0/CTRL-SHFT-0.
In the case of FSS frequencies, it is mostly the same, except when
requesting taxi clearance I had to tune to ground and request it the
same way, as though I were in mode 1. To get the weather on FSS
frequencies it is key 2 by default, if the manual is correct.
That's pretty much it, at least as far as I know. Perhaps someone can
shed some light on how to request missed approach, since that would be
nice to be able to do. I think the option is only available when
you're on the tower frequency, but I'm not sure about the correct key.
I also am not sure the options for reporting traffic, since the whole
reason I use PF3 is so that kind of thing can be handled. That, and
the fact that you can set the distance of approaches, so you won't
have the problem that you encounter with RC4.
