Hello Tyler,
As a sighted person, I do not use JAWS or NVDA, thus I cannot address (in
specific terms) the "lagging" effect. I will perform some generic tests to
see if there are inherent and unnecessary delays.
As for the development environment, IYP was/is developed using VB.Net
version 2010. As you well understand, whether one uses VB.Net, C# or any
other dot net development environment, they all reduce to the same binary
run file after compilation.

Which version of NvDA are you using? I find NVDA crashing and/or lagging
quite a bit for me.

ah okay, maybe I'll try again at some point, I just ended up sitting there
for ages but Mike didn't say anything so i had no idea when we were
supposed to start doing the checklists. yeah it's so laggy here too, tried
with jaws and NVDA, actually seems to work better with Jaws as my NVDA just
completely crashed, but that could have just been my computer.

Since you just loaded the plan, it should sync up with the IYP servers
and IYP pretty much hand-holds you from there... except when the
simulator crashes. Then shit hits the fan as it doesn't delete the old
plan and that plan is obselete, and it's just a mess. But it does,
can, and most likely will happen to you.
BTW Decklan, is the IYP VA panel, and options for that matter, lagging for
you?
It is for a number of us.
