Blasted "Reply" command in my e-mail program...I meant this to go to the

That would be a brilliant idea. I have a bit of coding experience, but I
doubt I could lead such a project even if it were to come to fruition,
except perhaps when it came to the back-end, technical side of things
(servers, etc).

That is not a bad idea. I have thought of the same ideas myself, but I have
not found a developer yet that would be willing to take the lead development

Subject: [bvipilots] Open Sourcing Its your Plane
Hi Robert and all,
This idea has been floating around my head for a while, ever since I got into
Flight Simulation but am limited by the abilities of IYP, Ex.
unsupported aircraft I'd love IYP to support that would probably take for ever
to implement.
For example, Aerosoft's airbus's, aircraft from iFly, etc.
all of these aircraft feature Flight Management Computers (FMCs) which include
Flight Planning, fuel, even the ability to autoland and choose how you want to
fly the plan.
There are other things that IYP should support too. A perfect example would be
the new Flight Sim World, available for early access on Steam. I wonder if
early access means free, i'd be curious to check out the interface.
So basically, what I'm saying is, should Robert open IYP up? Should he give the
code away, make it free software, and have the flight simming community make
improvements to it, add more aircraft, etc? The next question to ask is, what
to do with the online services?
Of course the tradeoff here is that if he opens it, someone may just completely
remove blind pilot mode or something.
I'm curious, what does everyone think about the idea? IYP could continue
development, but as I said I hope whoever takes it over would have the decency
to continue developing blind pilot mode.
