[bulug] mythtv with BU cable

Ok, so after a month and a half of being here I STILL can't get this working
- I have an external tuner, an HVR-950q, installed under ubuntu on my laptop
with mythtv installed. Whenever I try to scan for channels, it just hangs
after not finding any (of course it only gets through 5-10 channel tune
attempts). Has anyone set up mythtv here? Getting this working is totally
absurd.
