Hi everyone. Here's some more details about the "Carousel Carnival":
- It's Saturday, September 11th, from 12 to 4.
- It's by the Carousel downtown, right next to the Keybank Center (and the
luxurious Lexus Club. I'll be able to point out the windows whose shades
don't work.)
- The event serves as the 'gateway' to the Buffalo Rotary Club's annual "Duck
Derby", which takes place at the waterfront at 4pm.
- They've never done this before (combined a carnival with the Duck Derby) -
so... it's hard to say what kind of attendance they're expecting. They'd
like to have thousands, but who knows?
- They will also have face painters, students playing music, a magician, and
games (they haven't decided if they'll be charging for the games).
- They also may have Nels perform (the contact person only said that they're
speaking with Nels; I know absolutely nothing else about the arrangement, and
it's up to Nels if he wants to comment about it).
- They'd be willing to give us an honorarium. I explained that the Buffalo
Jugglers don't do contracts, and it's voluntary on our part, and that's why
we do honorariums.
- They have a rain date of September 12th, but they hope the 11th will be
fine.
So... think it over. If a few of us are interested, I'll get back to the
contact person and let him know we'll do it.
