Hello everyone, and happy almost spring! We've started hearing peeps from
several corners of the blind sailing community, which must mean it's time to
stop hibernating and start planning for another great season on the water!
You are cordially invited to meet up at The Fours on March 18th, from 12:30
to 3 PM for lunch and to discuss the upcoming season. The Fours is located at
166 Canal Street, close to North Station. We will be looking for feedback on
what worked well last season, and what we would like to continue for this
year!
Some topics include:
- this season's weekly practice schedule, including dedicated volunteers to
run practices
- recruitment of new guides and sailors
- the Robie Pierce Regatta
- blind windsurfing
- hosting the match racing nationals at CBI
- Olin's renewal of funds for this year's project
- and much much more!
Even if you did not participate a lot in BUBS practices and events last year,
if you are interested in sailing or guiding this season, please come and join
us! We welcome your input on how to make blind sailing a better experience
for you. Even if you consider yourself "retired," we would love to hear your
wisdom (and see you)!
This will be a productive time to shape the future of our program. We have a
lot to discuss, so let's stay on topic and focus on the upcoming season. If
there is a specific topic you would like to bring up, please send an email
ahead of time to bostonblindsailing@xxxxxxxxx.
Lunch is on the Association for Blind Citizens! Beers are on you. So come and
join us! Please RSVP to bostonblindsailing@xxxxxxxxx by Wednesday, March 14th
so we can get a headcount. Finally, if you've got a recruit, pass the
invitation along!
Hope to see you soon,
Inky & Grace
