BIRD STUDY GROUP This wasn't an impressive list but it was nice to find a non-breeding plumage Scarlet Tanager. The ebird filter flagged the Mississippi Kite. Didn't know it was late for them in this area. There is a good crop of dogwood fruit to welcome passing songbirds if they decide to stop on their way to the coast. Always wondered what I'd find if I was accompanied by a talented birder like Terry Davis on trips like this. Two Great Egrets and one Canada Goose. Only waterbirds > although I guess one could include the sandpipers and Killdeer in that > category. Still, 5 waterbirds for a 2000 acre reservoir is pretty puny.
