Birds, Butterflies and Blooms: How to bring nature's jewels your own
back yard

by

Jeannette Hotard and Dr. Vicki LeFevers

MAY MEETING

When: Tuesday, May 14, 2013, 6:00 p.m.

Where: LSUS, Science Lecture Auditorium

Jeannette and Vicki will present information to guide you as you create
a haven to attract birds and butterflies into your yard. They were
members of the 2009 Class of Northwest Louisiana Master Gardeners. The
project for the class was the development of the butterfly garden on the
north side of the grounds of the Randal T. Moore Center. Vicki was on
the original committee to select the plants and to design their
placement; Jeannette is in charge of the maintenance of the butterfly
garden.

Jeanette has created a bird and butterfly environment in her back yard
by interspersing vegetables, herbs, vines and seeds in with common
nectar flowers. Vicki has transformed her entire front yard into a
butterfly paradise. They will share their secrets for hours of
enjoyment in your own yard.

This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments start at 6:00
PM; program begins at 6:30 PM. Come at 6 P.M. to chat with other
birders! For more information or directions to the Science Lecture
Auditorium you can call 347-3134 or email: lrraymond@xxxxxxx. More
information is available on the website:
