Next Meeting -May 14, 2013 Birds, Butterflies and Blooms: How to bring nature's jewels your own back yard by Jeannette Hotard and Dr. Vicki LeFevers MAY MEETING When: Tuesday, May 14, 2013, 6:00 p.m. Where: LSUS, Science Lecture Auditorium Jeannette and Vicki will present information to guide you as you create a haven to attract birds and butterflies into your yard. They were members of the 2009 Class of Northwest Louisiana Master Gardeners. The project for the class was the development of the butterfly garden on the north side of the grounds of the Randal T. Moore Center. Vicki was on the original committee to select the plants and to design their placement; Jeannette is in charge of the maintenance of the butterfly garden. Jeanette has created a bird and butterfly environment in her back yard by interspersing vegetables, herbs, vines and seeds in with common nectar flowers. Vicki has transformed her entire front yard into a butterfly paradise. They will share their secrets for hours of enjoyment in your own yard. This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments start at 6:00 PM; program begins at 6:30 PM. Come at 6 P.M. to chat with other birders!
