BIRD STUDY GROUP
I think this list is good for the BSG study area. Does BSG take lists from
ebird or does someone have to input the data to the BSG data base?

Subject: [LABIRD-L] Sabine Parish - Toledo Bend Area - Converse Bay, Aug 9, 2013

I rarely get to the Toledo Bend area but came south from Logansport in
mid-morning looking for a nice public park in Desoto Parish and missed it.
Rather than just continue on home, I turned westward at a sign for Converse Bay
just opposite where LA 174 intersects LA 191. Found a reasonably nice place to
bird. Tried my best to turn a flycatcher that was whitting away at a BirdJam
screech-owl rendition into a Willow Flycatcher but common sense and a note from
a senior birder got me straight.

Converse Bay looks like what I'd say should be an ebird hotspot based on the
wide vistas of Toledo Bend Reservoir that can be viewed from shore plus
riparian habitat and tall pines. But it's sure off the beaten path.
