Hi birders, Good wader nos of many continue. Things were quite slow for land
birds with exception of the barrage of Blue-gray Gnatcatchers. Jeff got a good
pic of a very dark-breasted pewee- which pale bill suggests EAWP- also an in
hand shot of an unusually friendly juvenile broad-banded water snake.

Sep 6, 2013 6:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Protocol: Traveling
1.0 mile(s)
Comments:     Birded with Jeff Trahan. Two observers, 3 hrs, 30 min.(0630-1000)
1 mile. Clear, 70 degrees, calm beginning, winds calm, light N-e throughout
survey. Clear, 77 degrees, calm ending. Good numbers of many wading birds
continue. Land birds were very slow with exception of 34 Blue-gray
Gnatcatchers!! The species list for today was notably lower than it's been.
Early movement to N of waders was practically non-existent, other than a few
stragglers. The concentration of larger waders were on the lake predominately
well to the S this morning. Jeff photo'd a quite dark-breasted Pewee. The bill
is rather pale below. We did not succeed in relocating the banded Empidonax
along the Chocolate trail. There was a brief viewing of a Traill's-type. A few
whit calls were heard and one certain Alder calling near the spot.
