Hi birders, Certainly not early, but had my first Mississippi Kite today at
confluence of 3132 and Ellerbe Rd in s Shreveport. A Swainson's Thrush also
livened up the morning at work, singing loudly from an enormous Ligustrum
row nearby. This is on E Wilderness Way in Spring Lake. There was also a
calling Rose-breasted Grosbeak and Great Crested Flycatcher high in the
surrounding oaks, but no warblers. The pecans have been rather bare here at
the apartment the past several days right at dawn. Here's hoping the
weekend brings some good birds for everybody!
