Hi birders, Covered a lot of ground and finished much of the N (mostly central) portion of quad and some of southeast/ central. Missed quite a few, had some decent ones. Numbers of some that have been high were much lower, and vice-versa. Mentionable- N Bobwhite- 1- at about the middle of Middle between Old 80 and Old Antioch Broad-winged Hawk- 1 On Fuller Cemetery about midway between Old 80 and Old Antioch- Knocked about an inch (maybe more (; ) of dust off the Canon to get one identifiable shot......... Greater Roadrunner- 1, almost certain of 2 separate birds calling at the same loc. At VERY first stop at Old Antioch and Harris. Recorded. Northern Flicker- 3 CACH-14, TUTI-40 ! American Robin- 1 singer, recorded at Old 80 and Harris. Prairie Warbler- 2, Singing male on Harris, then very ratty ad female/ hym near 1st stop of morning while on way back out- photoed. Black-and-White "- 6- all singing males. 2 again at one stop, then rest singles. All in N-central portion Worm-eating "- 2 (prob 3) Recorded first singing male at 2nd stop of the day- on Old Antioch approz 200 yards E of Harris. Another singer on Old Antioch W of Fuller Cemetery. The quad looks really good for these............ Louisiana Waterthrush- 1. Bridge on Old Antioch- N-e portion of quad. Summer Tanager- 18 Lark Sparrow- 1- Nelson Oil and Gas on Shadows near Middle Blue Grosbeak- 24.........chock full of 'em. Painted Bunting- Sep singing males at Nelson Oil and Gas House Finch- 1 male at residence with mailbox 1625/Lowe on Middle/Jack Martin- somewhat noteworthy as quite rural. I birded until noon then pond-hopped until 1:15, again subtracting 30 minutes for both driving between ponds and lunch. Alas, Cattle Egret was the only water bird of the day- and definitely not for lack of trying....... Good birding, Terry
