Great to have Jackie involved. I am aware Jackie has been a leading
light within BCAB for many years. Naturally I bought your recent book
about Braille displays. Folks, we have a brilliant resource in Jackie,
who I would describe as a bit of a braille display addict. :)
Jackie you may be the best person to help us keep updated with
developments in the world of braille technology. I'm pretty sure you are
signed up to receive announcements from all the major manufacturers. Are
you happy for people to send you any braille news they find? Matthew
suggested that we have a news notes section to the podcast. You appear
well place to help collect and collate stories that need to be shared.
We must make sure that any news also attempts to include stories about:
policy, products, services, publications etc extending beyond braille
technology.
As well as a news round up in the podcast itself, do you think we also
need to share more timely news via social media and/or the website etc?
I am sure BCAB members would be interested when we have some podcasts to
share. Plus, BCAB has Team Talk server which may be a good system for
recording audio and maybe even holding meetings? Would we better to set
up our own?
Anyway, glad Jackie is here and I look forward to your contributions.
Please chip in generally if you think we are missing a trick.

Hi everyone
I am very keen to be involved in a podcast as well. I have been using
Braille since the age of four, and find it an invaluable skill as part of my
daily life. I am passionate about using technology, and would be more than
happy wherever possible to put my writing and other skills to use in this
area.
I live in Northern Ireland, a place I feel is under-represented where Braille
is concerned. I have lots of contacts, and am quite well known in the
blindness community due to my work with BCAB, being a former volunteer on
RNIB Connect Radio's Tech Talk show, and a former Braille Specialist with
Sight and Sound Technology.
I look forward to working with you all.
Kind regards,

Hi Dave and all.
I've been lucky to hear about Dave's plans for some time and am keen to be
involved where practicable.
I am a totally blind Braille user and access technology teacher, and feel it
of vital import to try and improve Braille uptake where possible. I'm very
keen on new technology and the benefits it can give to Braille. I live in a
quiet village between Worcester and Malvern, and am quite happy being
recorded, field-recording with others and helping maintain a website.
Sean.

Hi
Welcome to those of you who have just subscribed.
Don't be shy. Feel free to introduce yourself and share where you think
you can help make this braille podcast thing a reality.
Matthew and I have been having some discussions about content, frequency
and duration. I'll let him bring you up to speed.
Thanks very much for your support.
Kind regards
