south fork Holston River in Kingsport
Sullivan Co., TN

Spotted Sandpiper - 1
Black-cr. Night-Heron - 7

few ducks, only notables:
N. Shoveler - 6
N. Pintail - 3

The Spotted Sandpiper is being seen on the river shore at the
Riverside Restaurant (I think that's the name; it's a good seafood place
on Netherland Dr. under the interstate).
It was recorded on the Kpt. CBC (26 Dec). This is the third consecutive
winter that 1-2 have wintered there. Interestingly a single Spotted was
found on this CBC on 22 Dec 1985 & 3 Jan 1987.
Robinson (1990) cites "about 20" winter records in TN, with most coming
from the southern third of Tenn.
