Winter records of the Marsh Wren continue to turn up in the wetland areas

at Kingsport in Sullivan Co., TN.

Rob Biller and Ron Carrico heard one at the Cattails Golf Course at
Meadowview

In Kingsport, Sullivan County, TN Sunday, 16 March 2014.

Last Friday (14 March), Rick Phillips heard and observed the Marsh Wren at

The Cattails at Meadowview golf course in the cattail strip below Eastman

Credit Union.

Rick Knight had a Marsh Wren at the cattail pond behind Eastman Credit Union

on 2 December 2013.

There had been seven (7) winter records for the species in the five-county

Northeast Tennessee area until Knight's early December 2013 find.

David Hunt found one (1) on 21 February 2008 at Riverfront Restaurant

at Kingsport.

Knight noted that these are among few late winter records in Tennessee

(most winter occurrences are in Dec; fide Robinson [1990]).
