Bullock Hollow Rd.
near South Fork Holston River
Sullivan Co., TN

A Dickcissel singing from a utility line along the road today
begs the question as to whether it is a migratory individual
or a lingering male from a previously undefined lose colony.

The center of distribution would now be a male found last year
at Paddle Creek Pond and present this year. The Bullock
Hollow Rd. bird is about 2 miles east of the pond. A third
Dickcissel pair has been on territory for at least a second
season about 2.5 miles SW of the pond along Riverside Rd.

The Riverside Rd. male was singing late last week.

Let's go birding . . . .
