Some of you have asked to see the large, blown up, photo of the gull flying near US 421 bridge in Sullivan Co., TN, Saturday, 12 Feb 2011. It doesn't add much except there might be some reason to see why the bill may have been black. Below is the full, uncropped frame when I discovered the image. I looked over as many gulls as I could without seeing anything of interest. This photo was taken by holding my Panasonic Lumix out the window with one hand and snapping photos in several direction to try and capture the extent of what a group in one cove looked like. I never saw anything that looked like the bird with the dark wings. This photo was made about 3:30 p.m. and I discovered the bird image in this frame about 5 hours later. Oh, well. Let's go birding . . . . Wallace Coffey Bristol, TN
