A counter clockwise rotation of air caused by a departing upper low this evening, may cause nocturnal migration of birds to pile up in the region and especially in Northeast Tennessee. With the showers decreasing, fog is likely in the region and there is a possibility of widespread and locally dense fog by Thursday morning. Since winds will become light, any birding very early in the morning may produce a significant increase in migrant numbers. Shorebirds and water birds may be grounded during the night and stay at some of our best birding habitats until mid morning. Perhaps a good time to be out birding. Wallace Coffey
